The new overpass structure is part of the so-called C construction road. It connects the central logistics hub, which is just a few hundred meters away from the North Station with the construction sites of the Stuttgart 21 project at Stuttgart Central. The central logistics hub is the main reloading site for the excavated tunnel material as well as the required construction materials.
For the smooth dismanteling of the historic bridge a 700-ton crane took the steel giants on the hook. The gigantic weightlifter stood right next to the train tracks of the North Station on a railway embankment surface, which had been reinforced with piles.
Afterwards two new 39-meter-long, 65 ton steel superstructures were mounted using the crane.
